Christophe Faure, M.D., is a Professor of pediatrics in the Department of pediatrics at Université de Montréal. He completed his training in basic science and in pediatric gastroenterology in Paris, France. He received further training in enteric neuroscience in Michael D. Gershon's laboratory at Columbia University, New York. He worked as a pediatric gastroenterologist at Robert Debré Hospital in Paris, France before moving  to Montreal in 2001. He is currently in activity in the division of pediatric gastroenterology at CHU Ste-Justine and has clinical, academic and research activities. He has been involved in the field of pediatric GI motility for more than 20 years. He has developed research in pediatric gastrointestinal motility disorders and visceral sensitivity  and postnatal consequences of congenital digestive anomalies.  He serves as a director of the Esophageal Atresia Clinic at Ste-Justine Hospital and has developed and set-up a Pediatric Visceral Sensitivity Centre.

He manages his own laboratory  in the Sainte-Justine hospital research Center and has developed basic research in enteric nervous system plasticity. He started in 2018-2019 a new research program on esophageal atresia based on induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) funded by private donations (CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation) and supported by patients association. The aims of this program are (1) to understand the mechanisms leading to the malformation and (2) to study new treatments of the malformation based on tissue-engineering. 

He has published more than 120 peer-reviewed papers and 40 book chapters.
He is lead co-editor of the only book dedicated to Pediatric Neurogastroenterology.
